Halifax Stanfield is proud to implement the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program (Sunflower program) as part of our commitment to providing a supportive and compassionate experience.

The Sunflower program offers travellers and airport visitors with non-visible (hidden) disabilities and needs a discreet way to signal to our employees that they may require additional support during their time at the airport.

What is the Sunflower program?

By wearing the universally recognized sunflower symbol, those with non-visible disabilities, who may need extra accommodation, can discreetly request support from airport employees to ensure a smooth travel experience and airport visit.

First launched in 2016, the Sunflower program has since been adopted by hundreds of airports and airlines around the world.

How can I participate?

Individuals who are travelling through Halifax Stanfield and reside in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, or Prince Edward Island who wish to participate in the Sunflower program, you can request a lanyard or pin here, and one will be mailed to you free of charge to wear throughout the airport.

Or simply fill out the Sunflower form to request yours today.

Due to the Canada Post national strike, please be advised that deliveries of Sunflower program items may be delayed. Thank you for your patience.
